Artist: Gene Kennedy Media: Mixed Media Gene Kennedy was born in New Mexico, and raised on a farm and ranch during the depression. He was taught to recycle and still prefers to create his art from recycled products. He married his high school sweetheart and moved to Cochise County Az in 1948 where he farmed and ranched until 1986. He then retired and to stay busy, whittled old lumber into art objects that delighted his friends and family. Soon he was making other recycled art like the lariat art you see here in the gallery. vases, pots, clocks, picture frames, angels, morrors and lamps, all out of used lariats. He has also made jewelry out of beverage can tabs, the necklaces are beautiful and light, perfect for a square dance gal.
